I use a Samsung ml-1640 in my office and used to share it from an xp sp3 machine so I can print from my vista laptop. After a printer driver update to both machines and an firmware upgrade to the printer( in order to reset page counter :-P ) the printer could't be shared anymore. I can still share the printer and find it from my laptop as shared but it returns an error when I try to print through LAN. So I rollbacked the drivers on both machines but that didn't solve anything so i started to suspect the new firmware to cause the trouble.
But I can't install an older version of it and I don't know what to do (except from exchanging the usb cable all the time from one machine to the other!!!!)
ANY IDEAS???????

did u try to ping the printer to see if it replies?
did u try to share the printer using the ip address on printer properties?
please try that and let me know
