Ok so here is my problem.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 that refuses to turn on. I have taken out the battery and then applied AC power. Nothing. I have disassembled the system made sure the connections were nice and secure. It worked for a couple days and then went back to not turning on. I disassembled the laptop figuring something might have popped loose. Nothing. The system will not turn on.

Now for what I consider wierd. This happened the first time as well, but whenever I push the power button the power light turns on while the button is pushed in and turns off when button is released.

Any ideas to what is going on?

Bad switch, bad power supply, or bad power adapter. You need a good multimeter to test, or have an expert go over it. The 6000 has had issues to you may want to do a Google search as well listing the model number combined with "problem" or "failure."k
