Hope this works..

I have been getting called to a lot of houses where this has happened. They installed SP2 and the inet connection was lost. There was no spyware, etc. The end result was I uninstalled SP2 and it came back fine.

I tried to uninstall SP2. I did it the normal way, through the control panel add/remove progs. It still tries to reinstall when I start my comp. How did you get rid of it?
Also, the msg I get when I am trying get online is error 769, destination unreachable. It no longer recognizes my IP.

Any ideas? (grr)

If you look through this thread, you should find a patch for SP2 that may fix this problem:
http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread10031.html

If you decide to uninstall SP2 (not recommended by me), you can do it from Add/Remove Programs, but you need to be in Safe Mode.

I don't see anythin bad in the log ,!

From another site ,i assume dialup connecting!!!

Error 769

1. Check the dialer settings, making sure that the user isn't set to static IP addressing (less they are supposed to) and that all other settings are ok.

2. Reinstall TCP/IP.

3. Reboot the computer.

4. Reinstall all dialup components.
