I successfully installed Debian on a MS VM. When it boots up, at the point it makes it to the log in, the display is distorted. It simple won't show anything but a distorted login screen.... even after it logs in, it's not viewable. Do I make sense??
Can anyone help me... btw, I have another Linux installed on the VM that works fine on the same machine.
Please help.

Does your command prompt show up clearly when you press Alt-F2?

Everything shows up fine, I go into command mode and command "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" and configured VMware device, but now I get VMware xserver error 104

What is the contents of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, and what is the virtual hardware that you're emulating? (particularly display-related)
