I switched my computer on and on the start up it's half way down the page.

Then it goes on to window starting up and just reboots again.

I have tried the safe mode and that does the same.

Can anyone offer me any help.

Thanks

What is you computer! And what specifications does it have? RAM, CPU etc.
Also have you had viruses/spyware recently?

My father dropped off his Toshiba labtop to me. He said he just keeps rebooting on him. I tried using compressed air to clean it but it did not seem to be very dirty. It will start and then will just reboot. It does not feel warm to the touch at all.

put your xp disk in , boot from cd, choose 'R' at the first screen
choose 1
press enter or put in admin password
type at the dos prompt
chkdsk /r
may fix it

Try simple things first - check cpu for dust, run a virus scan, check power supply, check other hardware such as memory

try the simple things first !
seems to me that chkdsk /r is pretty simple
