I turned on an old pcg505tx Sony vaio notebook and the screen said operatinf system not found. I tried to use a windows 98 2nd edition cd to reinstall but i had an error message saying that it was missing OEMCD001. ANy thoughts?

sometimes laptops need proprietary drivers found on the OEM Windows install cd. are you using the cd that came with the laptop
