I am using Word 97 with the Office 97 Suite to manage my small business. I have encountered a problem, which persists. I can start a new document or open an existing document and edit it with no problem. In a window at the bottom of the screen there is a little book, with a pencil shown writing on a document while I work.

When I hit the print button, a small computer symbol comes up in that window with a flashing light. If is place the cursor over that area, I get the message, “Cancel Print Job”, and shortly, word closes without printing.

Is there any help for this? I am at a loss and am afraid of having to redo the ten years work I’ve got in my data base, spread sheet and word processor if I have to upgrade to Office 2007.
