ok here we go old system has a creative tech. sound card and npo onboard sound. media player and everything else is giving me this error msg," Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly." this thing is completely loaded with differt drivers and stuff. tried downloading drivers and now all i wanna do is uninstall all sound and start fresh. also if someone knows a hassel free place to get exe install drivers that would be great.

Try this -
Remove using Hardware Manager.
Right click My computer/properties/hardware manager.
look for sound devices
uninstall.
Restart PC
Uninstall any unnecessary drivers.
Restart PC
Re-install required drivers.
Restart PC.
