Hi,

I am about to format my pc and need to recover some of my passwords from Opera. I have searched the internet and found a viable solution OperaPassView. The application works and recovered my passwords fine (I have no master password), however passwords that are network related, eg. Proxy auth. passwords do not show up in the list! Where can I find these ?

Note to self. Use Firefox in future. Seriously, why does Opera not have a function to view these!

As discovered, saved proxy credentials often behave differently from normal site/form passwords and therefore don't always appear in the same recovery lists. was right to flag the profile-files approach — the fastest path to salvaging anything is to stop and make a full copy of Opera's profile before changing, reinstaling, or formatting the machine.

Do not format yet. Locate and copy the entire Opera profile folder (for older Opera releases this is under %APPDATA%\Opera\Opera on Windows). You can confirm the exact folder from Opera's About/help screen. Copy the whole folder to an external drive so you have every preference, cache and data file to examine later on another machine. Both methods require care and are for administrators or experienced users only; if unsure, contact the proxy admin and ask for a reset.

Doesn't have that function for security reasons. If you need to do a reformat at any time, save the wand.dat file before doing so.

That doesn't answer my question at all regarding the proxy passwords, which do not seem to be stored in wand.dat
