Currently the Ubuntu version is 10.10 which was release on October 2010. I am using one right now. Its depend on what you want to use the computer for. No point choosing an OS if you want to perform certain task which is only available in one OS. But I find Ubuntu much secure than Window and user friendly. Check out the website www.ubuntu.com and ubuntuforums.org. You can try it out on the LiveCD before commit to your main computer. The instruction to create a LiveCD is mention on the website. But of course the CD is slower as compare when install into your hard disk. And if you have an older spare computer to test so much the better. Let me know your opinion once you try it. I know I like it and it is my main OS now.
