hi guys, thanks for taking a look, if you have an idea as to whats up pleeeaaassse reply! thanks

right, frind of mine brought their compaq evo n800v laptop round running windows xp pro, said it couldnt play dvd's, whenever you play a dvd it has audio but no video, whereas on others it says it couldnt play the file due to copyright protection problem (all dvds were genuine!), upgraded to mp10, same problems, advice from wmp10 minisite said to change screen res to the lowest and 16bit colour, same prob, and turn off video acceleration in media player, still same prob,

the computer;

compaq evo n800v
micro$oft xp pro sp2
intel pentium 4 - 2.00ghz
256mb ram

thanks , darren
