I have a domain controller that when we attempted to demote it from it's status was giving us an error. So an associate and I found a page online that said there was a way to do this through the registry, so we jumped the gun and did it. Unfortunatly we didn't read all of it and we failed to remove it from Sites and Services before we restarted. Now when we attempt to log into the server it won't let is us. That it can't be authenticated in the domain.

HELP.

I need to find a way to edit the registry without booting into safe mode (because we've tried it and it won't let us in) but through dos?

Does anyone know how to do this?

Audrey

If I was your domain admin I would just restore from the latest backups.

However I understand your pain.
You may be able to edit the registry or at the very least restore a previous registry version by trying UBCD.
