I'm incredibly sorry for the confusion. The login page should now have a link towards the bottom to migrate your legacy DaniWeb login credentials into Dazah.

This should work:

1. Go here => https://www.daniweb.com/members/auth/join
2. Log in with the email address associated with your old account. You might need to request a password reset.
3. That should work.

I guess, if I were you, I would start by getting my hands on a sample exam. Take the full exam, time yourself, and see how well you do. If you do okay and are confident you can repeat the results in a testing center, then the amount of studying time required was the amount of time it took you to take the exam. Otherwise, you'll know what parts to focus on and where you're weak.

You don't have anything uploaded to the correct directory on the server, or you don't have the correct permissions set.

Attachments are working! ;) Private message attachments coming soon. And by "soon" I mean I have a few other things to take care of first.

The bug related to post attachments that got introduced over the past couple of days should now be fixed. Attachments to private messages will be coming soon.

Cereal, bug should be fixed in that you should no longer be getting a 500 error. However, there is currently a 5000 character maximum.

Diafol, you're seeing that because those private messages have always been sent by the system, on your behalf, each time you edit/delete someone's post, as a moderator. Our new system now allows you to see your complete conversation history, so you're actually able to see the messages that the system sends to other people on your behalf. (Previously, they appeared one-off in your Outbox).

Thirdly, attachments will be returning soon to private messages.

He doesn't have the same bug. One of his posts that received a downvote has been deleted. We DO factor deleted posts into post quality score because if a spammer receives a bunch of downvotes and subsequently has all of their posts deleted, they still should have a poor quality score.

The only problem now is ... what are you going to do about the downvote you have?

There was an incredibly weird inconsistency in the database where there were seven cases of the vote counting against the voter instead of against the author of the post.

Try clearing your browser cookies.

There already are multiple posts about login issues. Once I have everything working, I'm going to send a mass email explaining the situation.

Clearing the browser cache (not cookies, just the browser cache) seems to have fixed the problem for cereal.

If he attempted that, he would get an error message saying that you need to have no posts for 7 days before you can delete your membership (to avoid people clicking it accidentally b/c they don't realize it's permanent, and to ensure people take the time to think about what they're doing.) Therefore, I went and deleted his membership for him.

Ah, I see. No, that's simply the way the system works now. The All Conversations tab shows your entire history log of conversations. It's actually a bug that messages on that page have a button to Archive. (Essentially, if they are showing up there but not in the other two tabs, they are archived.)

How long has the problem been going on? Just today, or for the past week?

I'm still ironing out a LOT of issues, and fixing things, so it's also possible you caught me just as I was rolling something out.

Actually, on second thought, in order to help solve this problem, I need to more accurately understand the problem.

Is the problem that:

1. Old conversations are showing up in the Message Inbox tab, the My Active Conversations tab, or the All My Conversations tab?
2. Old conversations are in bold, showing as "New"?
3. You are receiving new message popups for messages that really aren't new?

I will fix this.

Clearing your browser cache should fix the issue.

So, we have always showed edits on the activity stream. The problem seems to be that because there's such a huge delay, people are repeatedly clicking submit multiple times in a row, and therefore that's corrupting the activity stream.

So I figured out the problem. Will be resolving soon.

Yeah, there's currently a bug in that it takes forever. I need to fix this within the next day or so. :)

I'm sorry you're having difficulty. You should be able to remedy this by following these steps:

1. Click your name in the top navigation menu and go to Edit Profile
2. Click "Associate with a different account"
3. Log into Dazah with the same email address as is associated with the DaniWeb account you wish to use. You may need to do a lost password request.

I wrote the post above prior to our interaction in another thread, where a lot of things were clarified by you.

Keep in mind that, for the past few days, I have had no clue who I've been talking to, because everyone's been using temporary logins. My fault, of course, but incredibly confusing and annoying none-the-less.

(clicking the revocation link originally did not result even in the text on that page changing as it does now, for me at least).

That was a bug that I fixed yesterday.

Dazah's loading extremely slow for me today (several minute load time, if at all)

There's currently a database locking issue that I'm trying to resolve. When I initially created Dazah, I didn't have plans to put DaniWeb on it right from the beginning. As a result, it's going through tremendous growing pain issues.

Every new rollout has bugs. It's to be expected. However, the login/security/privacy bugs need to be dealt with FIRST, BEFORE rolling things out. Not private messaging. Not some algorithm that optimizes directed ads. That can wait a few days.

I dealt with login before messaging, and there's still a lot of other stuff waiting because the whole login thing obviously took precedence. Unfortunately, the issue that everyone was running into didn't apply to my account or any of my test accounts.

There's also an option in Dazah to supposedly revoke the permissions that we granted it. Click on it and it apparently does... nothing.

It does exactly what it was designed to do when you revoke access to DaniWeb, which is cut off any communication about you with DaniWeb. However, that doesn't mean that anything changes in the DaniWeb database, what DaniWeb already knows about you, or your DaniWeb cookies.

The fact that you would roll out a new system with these blatant unfixed bugs make me wonder what other security bugs you are still working on. Is our personal information safe? Do you respect our right to privacy?

There are not any outstanding security holes that I know about, and the bug that everyone encountered was not a security hole, per se. What it came down to was that it was denying access to people who shouldn't have been denied access. Not the other way around.

Would you be able to private message me your login credentials so I can try logging into your account to debug this? I'm not able to reproduce it myself.

I will fix soon!! I am accumulating a list of bugs to fix. Unfortunately I have to take care of some Dazah stuff first. But I'll get around to DaniWeb stuff within the next day or two. My goal is to have everything done -- both DaniWeb and Dazah -- by the middle of next week.

I can answer your first question. DaniWeb was written with PHP/MySQL.
