Generally speaking though a gig stick of PC3200 will work in any system that takes 168 pin DDR RAM.

Not always, Some systems that use the PC2100 type RAM are only compatible with that type of RAM and PC2700.

I personally would check what RAM your system can take using Crucials RAM checking software:

http://www.crucial.com/

There scanner will run through your system, takes a minute tops, and will tell you what type of RAM your system can support, and how much you can put into each slot.

How old is the machine? 512Mb of RAM is a bit on the small side for an XP machine these days. I would think about upgrading ur RAM, so that the system has more space to use.

Other good free anti-spyware, AVG version 8.0 has both Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware, so you can kill 2 birds with one stone, although i still prefer Sbybot for a full system clense. Spybot is very fast and very good in my opinion. Highly recommend it

On the BSOD, what error codes do you get? should be in the format of 0x<series of 0's>XXXX last charictors of the code are what tell you what the error is, and that can be isolated down, and we can tell you what is wrong.
Also could you pelase tell us the specifications of the laptop, CPU speed, CPU type, Amount of RAM, etc. and how old the machine is.
With this information we can help you further.

Have you allowed File sharing on both machines? This may be causing you not to be able to access the folders and files.

Long Time No See :P

Hello again fellow Daniweb techys, remember me?

Serunson is back, after a very long break i agree, but now he's at uni, and has a job, and is more amazing than ever! So i thought i would come back and join the realms of Daniweb and be part of the forums once more!

This time he knows more html, and is now learning Java, so you might even see me in the programming sections, asking for help rather than giving it :P

Well creationism, would imply an overlord being that has power beyond anything else that the earthlings could muster. But how would such a being be able to live before the big bang? Physics would not allow such a being to exist, before time itself. And evolution is far more plausible seeing as there is a whole heap of evidence supporting it. So my vote is with Evolution.
