Go to the properties of the wireless card and on the general tab make sure TCP/IP has a check by it. If it doesn't you need to put a check there and hit the install button.

It just wants a copy of the autoexec.nt in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 or the one thats in there is corrupt. If you have your Windows XP cd or your i386 folder stored somewhere, expand a copy of it and place in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. Problem fixed. Can't you just browse to them in network neighborhood, right click on them and select "connect"? If they are shared on the network, this is the easiest way to do it. Maybe the users are not logging onto the domain. Reboot the server. I have seen this help when users …

If you are asking if deleting the wrong regsitry entry can effect your system, the answer is YES. Be careful if you are not experienced in editing the registry, or back up the registry before you make any changes.

If possible, ALWAYS do a clean install instead of upgrading. It seems it creates fewer problems for you in the long run.

I think what you are going to need to do is have your son log on to the machine as a different user than you and deny his user permissions to the folder you want to protect.

I tried Microsofts anti-spyware and the thing I like is how much information it gives you about each threat it detected. Much more than AdAware or Spybot. It lets you decide what to remove or what not to.
