tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

Good news :). Clean this

O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

And you will 100% clean. Then download SP2 here. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx - and make sure you get all updates (by running windows update).

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

You can do it by yourself if you are confident enough. Have a look here.

Hi, now have HJT remove the following.

O4 - Global Startup: Digital Line Detect.lnk = ?

Then I would say your clean :). To keep your computer running how it should be, use numerous anti spyware/virus programs, and scan often. For a list of some good ones have a look here.

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

Nothing looks to serious, you can have HJT fix the following.

O23 - Service: ewido security suite control - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Spyware Tools\security suite\ewidoctrl.exe (file missing)

O23 - Service: ewido security suite guard - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Spyware Tools\security suite\ewidoguard.exe (file missing)

To continue keeping your computer running smoothly, have a look at this list for some good Anti Virus Programs.

Hi, This shows that your windows is out of date. After the cleaning process you should use windows update to get SP2.

Go into safemode. Scan again with HJT, and place a tick nest to these items, then click Fix checked items.

:\Program Files\SurfAccuracy\SAcc.exe Check with an antivirus scanner

C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer\optimize.exe Check with an antivirus scanner - Not sure about this one

Hi, I would remove this

O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\program files\bonjour\mdnsnsp.dll

and this

O8 - Extra context menu item: &MSN Search - res://C:\Program Files\MSN Toolbar Suite\TB\02.00.0001.1203\en-us\msntb.dll/search.htm

I am just a beginner at HJT readings...so you may want to let someone like DMR come along and finish it up. But for now scan again and remove that.

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

Hi, it could very likley be your nvidia driver. TO update this driver run Windows Update. If that doesnt find what you need go to the nvidia site.

www.nvidia.com

If youor not sure where to go/what to get, tell me what your card is and i will help you :).

-T

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

Still, it should work. I would try, but thats just me ;).

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

Uncheck it...

-T

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

Ok, to check go to

Tools>Folder Options> View Tab

then scroll down and see if

show encrypted or compresssed NTFS files in color

is checked, if it is that is why.

-T

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

I think it means they are encrypted.

Hi, and Welcome to DaniWeb

It sounds like you are trying to format the drive when you are just running windows normally. This will not work. you need to boot into the XP CD to do it. For instructions on how to boot into the CD, and what to do after look here.

why can't i change it?

Somtimes if you used any windows customization software (and it looks like you did) this happens . Check to see that they are unistalled. If you dont have software like that you may have a virus. But dont panic just post a HJT log in the spyware section. And one of the Spyware pro's will help you out.

-T

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

your welcome, glad you got it fixed :)

-T

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

I also agree, that seems to be the best option...

-T

tayspen 28 <Insert title here> Team Colleague

I think no one has the answer for this question

I do :) press print screen(may be prnt scrn) on your keyboard(above the insert button). that takes a pic of the desktop and puts in the clipboard. Then go into paint and hit ctrl-z. save it and post the attachment here.

Hi,

Previously I had Canon S200spx BJ Printer, which i dont use it now, so i removed the printer and its driver. This printer had created a folder in C: BJPrinter, which i removed but it comes back again, the moment i restart the computer this folder appears in the drive, i have tried to delete it a number of times but it reappears.

Is the folder created during installation of printer or is it a virus, any suggestions friends.

Thanx in advance

Hi,

Try taking it out is safe mode.

Welcome to DaniWeb,

When you say folder option what do you mean? Like

Tools>Folder Options

if so go here

and #155 is a tweak to allow you to show/not show hidden files.
Note: I belive this make changes to your registry....so be careful
