What is an RDBMS?

DBMS:: A database is a well organized collection of data.To be able to carry out operations like insertion,deletion and retrieval,the database needs to be managed by a some package of software.This software is usually called DBMS.

RDBMs stands for Relational Database Management System.It is a way to store the information in a database,creating realationship among different,related data in order to enable the user to query many differnt factors and recieve the widest range of data from single query.

Sita,One more thng also.Do you have any idea about SQL ? you must know about SQL.
SQL stands for Structured Query Language.
1.allows access to database.
2.can insert,update,delete records in a database.
3.can retrieve data from a database.

DBMS means to store the information in the system.
Ex for databases : file,oracle, mysql, sqlserver etc........

Here are Some kind of Data base management Systems

1.Hierarchical database.----- first DBM System

Present running DBMS is ORDBMS which is most advanced.......

Where to start? By starting new thread instead of hijacking someone else. Secondly providing info in regards of you project as reading from crystal ball is out of date and we have no chance to know what you working on...

PS: Closing down this thread as last posts are just "help me" bumps.
