A few weeks ago I "upgraded" from W8 to W8.1. I am now having a problem with the BSOD and getting error messages stating that my computer cannot restart because of a "BAD_POOL_CALLER." A few other messages have popped up, but the bad pool caller is the most consistent error. I have to restart the machine a couple of times and then it seems to be alright for a while. Anyone with the same issues? Anyone have any solutions?

Hello, I've encountered this problem with my PC recently. It randomly crashes from time to time (about 0 - 3 times a day). The crash can appear as following - the BSOD, a simple blank black screen, or a black screen that says "a disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart". I already checked the HDD, no bad blocks and the SMART data shows Ok. Where should I look for the next issue? Thanks

I recently got blue screened about four times. Some time later, i noticed that the nVidia GPU(630M), which is used with Optimus along with the onboard graphics, isn't being detected by the computer. I just want to know if there is some way to maybe make sure that the GPU is dead before doing anything else about it, maybe through the BIOS or some other method. I no longer have the crash dumps however. A couple specs: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 Intel Core i5-3210 @ 2.50GHz 6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz And the GPU is an …

Hi, I recently re-installed Win 7 Ultimate on a fresh hard drive in my Dell XPS 1340, and used my OEM-supplied disk to install drivers. I also used Driver Robot to auto-install or update the drivers, as well as searching the Dell website. I then burned a System Recovery disk and HDD file. After Win 7's auto-update installs SP 1, it goes to BSOD when restarting - either from hibernation or from fresh boot. This has happened twice. The first time, in the midst of repairing startup, it tried to perform a system restore, which failed. I used my newly …

Hi Family ! I have an Acer Aspire 5315-2940, Windows Vista, 32 bit. I had a virus/trogan and I believe I got rid of it using Super Anti Spyware, Spybot, and even Malwarebytes. I went to run Malwarebytes one last time to make sure the computer was clean and the computer BLUE SCREENED. I ran other virus removing programs and everything was fine. I can go online and surf normaly. I can do anything I want to on the laptop except run Malwarebytes. I uninstalled Malwarebytes and downloaded a clean install from Filehippo.com. I installed it and tried to run …

Hi guys, I've been getting sporadic bsods without any identifiable cause, and would like to know if anyone could help me identify the problem. It used to hang sometimes while playing games, which I attributed to the games themselves, but recently bsods have been happening while the computer's idle. I'm on a custom-built pc, which had a virus attack quite a few months ago which I resolved by doing a fresh install. I'm uploading the minidump logs with this thread - in the zip file "minidump"; the txt file "bsod" is a copy-paste of what i see in the minidump …

I have a problem in my laptop. I wanted to reinstalled windows 7 but unfortunately it couldn't complete. It showed a blue screen for one second then it restarted. So I went to recovery option from the windows 7 setup, It detected my uncomplete installation, but it couldn't continue the next step. I think I got blue screen of death. How do I fix this? My windows 7 isn't installing. And I only have recovery console option. I'm using dell inspiron, windows 7 home basic x64. Please help. It's urgent.

Hi, I'm getting BSOD extremely frequently over the last 24 hours. The blue screen says: Kernal Data Inpage Error, and 0x0000007a. but goes by too fast for me to copy down any other code. It also recommended stopping "Cache Shadowing" in the BIOS, but I could not find this option in the BIOS. I've tried rebooting in safe more after a couple of these BSOD's and Windows stopped loading at the following line both times: Windows\system32\drivers\bftpdskc64.sys I'm not sure if this is a virus or a windows problem, so I'm posting in Windows, but with the requisite preliminary research recommended …

I just did a hard reset on a dell inspiron N5050 and now when I turn it on and it starts loading for the very first time after the hard reset, it gives me the BSOD 0x0000001E. I have tried hard resetting the computer three times and it continues giving me this. I can not even log into safe mode because as soon as it begins to load for safe mode, the BSOD happens so I can not retrieve the crash dump files. Any ideas how to solve this? PS. Start up repair did not help

I have recently been having occasional problems with a BSOD - the error message which is shown is: ***STOP: 0x0000001E (0x0000000000000000, 0000000000000000, 0000000000000000, 0000000000000000) I have attached a .zip file containing some of the .dmp file. A common instance of the BSOD is when I play Skyrim - although it does occur at other times (same error message). Thanks in advance!

I currently have a BSOD problem which isn't very disruptive, however, after recently fixing a very severe BSOD issure (I had to reinstall Windows 7 again) I now fairly regularly play Skyrim on my desktop computer. The BSOD occurs occasionally while I am playing Skyrim - up until the most recent time the game has started FPS lagging for a few seconds before the BSOD error. I have attached the .dmp files in a compressed folder.

HELLO DaniWeb, it's been a couple years, sorry for that. Anyways,so here's the story.I was attempting to backup a client's SATA HD by hooking it up to my PC, which uses an IDE HD for the master, and after hooking it up it took an usually long time to boot, after several minutes it gave me an error in which it prompted me to run the diagnostic program that comes with Windows 7 Ultimate. I ran the program and all seemed fine after it did its repair thing, I could see my client's files and what not but regrettably I …

Hi err'body Whenever I try to uninstall BitDefender Internet Security 2010 the uninstallation process runs fine (Licence is expired, trying to install 2011). After it, I'm asked to restart my computer for changes to take effect. When I do, I get A BSoD with the following details: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL I even copied down the whole array of hexadecimal code:P Technical Information: STOP: 0x0000000D1 (0x000000002, 0x000000000, 0x88658B02) ndis.sys - Address 8865Bo2 base at 88622000, DateStamp 4a5bbf58 Ya, I think that's about it. Right after the loading screen it just pops up and restarts. Hello, First post here, but I've found many answers on this site. Sorry in advance for any vague information, I'm dealing with my neighbor's PC that I'm not too familiar with. He asked me to come over to deal with a virus/malware issue. It was the Security Suite malware, the one that scares you into thinking you have a virus and blocks a lot of things on your PC. I copied MBAM on a flash drive and installed it on his PC in safe mode, and removed everything. I also installed a copy of Avira anti-virus free software, and updated …

Okay so I recently have no clue what's causing it but I can predict a BSOD and can prevent it sometimes. Everytime this has happened I have been gaming. The warning sign is I will start to hear the sound get distoreded and then it progressivily gets worst and worst, sometimes the framerate drops and things start locking up. Everytime now when I catch this sound issue I quickly exit the game I am playing and try to restart my computer, I would like to point out that after exiting the game my windows sounds are also distored and my …

Hey, I just put together my first custom built PC. I ordered all the parts from newegg, just for reference. Everything was going fine, put it together with little to no problems. Turned it on,it posted, and I started to install windows 7 on it. About a quarter of the way into the setup (it had just started installing the OS files and such) there was a sharp high pitched humm from inside the case and I BSOD'd and it shut itself down. It now wont do anything. Every once in a while if I try turning it on the …

I am having a new problem with an older laptop and need some advice. When running a virus scan (Avira free edition and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware) I get the BSOD. Now I'm not sure that it is because of a sneeky virus that's causeing the computer to shut-down and restart, because it also happen when I did a search for a file it caused it to happen again. Then a second time. As a test, I ran a search for a file that I just made up and nothing happened. Then I did it again for another non-existing file and no …

I'm working on my first game in C++ and SDL. The game compiles and runs perfectly on both my boxes (Arch Linux and Windows XP). When two of my friends were to test the game, one of them (running Windows Vista) said his machine BSoD'd every time he ran the game. Unless it's an SDL or Vista thing (which I highly doubt) I'm thinking it might be a pointer issue, but I'm not very good with pointers. If anybody would take a quick look at the code I'd really appreciate it. (Any other suggestions/critique is very welcome as well. :) …

Ok so I was playing a video game (falcon 4.0), and i randomly got a blue screen of death. I do not recall the error message of that specific incident. Anyways, I rebooted, and after I selected to boot windows XP pro, I got a blue screen that said IRQL not less or equal (something of that sort). So I tried to fiddle with the hardware, while doing so I think I unplugged the harddrive because when I tried booting again it did not detect the harddrive/windows installation and I guess it tried to boot from a floppy (which I …

Thanks for your services. I just got a Blue Screen Of Death on a 1 year old Dell Inspiron 530, running XP, SP2. Never had a problem before. Tonight, my wife started Left 4 Dead 2 and it went to blue screen and rebooted. I cannot boot to any option (safe mode, safe mode command prompt, last known good, etc). Always get the same BSOD. I …
