Linux Mint So I'm trying to learn French but I'm running into some complications when it comes to finding a good keyboard layout. Here are the layouts that I've tried so far: English (US) English (international Alt Gr dead keys) English (UK, international with dead keys) English (UK, extended WinKeys) So far all have fallen short of what I need. I think only one of these listed above will allow me to type in the French c with a tail character ç. Most of the rest allow áéíóú, the problem here is that most of these accents are going the …

I'm on latest Kubuntu. Here I am with English US keyboard input. But I'd like to install say Norwegian, Polish, Japanese, whatever. I decide the easiest step. Which is to search "input". "Input Method" sounds promising. I run it. Then I get window. That says: Current configuration for the input method: * Active configuration: missing (normally missing) * Normal automatic choice: none (normally ibus or fcitx or uim) * Override rule: zh_CN,fcitx:zh_TW,fcitx:zh_HK,fcitx:zh_SG,fcitx:ja_JP,fcitx:ko_KR,fcitx:vi_VN,fcitx * Current override choice: (en_US) * Current automatic choice: none * Number of valid choices: 1 (normally 1) The override rule is defined in /etc/default/im-config. The configuration set …

Hello I am currently facing an issue with an HP laptop running Windows 10, whereby the following keys are not responding at all when typing: R, T, F, G, V, B. Sticky keys and other similar features have been turned off. Any fix for this issue?

Several keyboard keys in Daniweb are doing the wrong things. - Occasionally backspace is taking me back to previous pages instead of removing characters. - The END key takes me to the beginning of the line instead of the end of the line. - I occasionally find myself navigating where I didn't want to go, and have no idea what key did that. Editing keys should be STANDARD, always doing the same things on all web pages in the universe.. Please, no hot keys.

HP Pavilion DV2700 - Vista Windows OS the backspace does not work and only the g and the h and the ' key on the "a" row work. I have changed the keyboard - brand new - still the same keys do not work. Why? and is there a fix? The problem started after some juice was spilled on the computer. Below is a sampling of the keys that DO work. pushed in sequence across the board. An external USB keyboard does work. 1234567890-= qwertyuiop[]\ gh' zxcvbnm,./

Recently, I've been trying to find out how to make my computer think that a button on the keyboard has been pressed using python. I want the whole system to think the key has been pressed. I need this to be possible in windows 7 and 8, on the latest version of python. Any code and explanations about how to use any modules that might be helpful would be very helpful. Thanks, Patrick

As I stated when [reviewing the Minisuit 3-in-1 Folio Case](http://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/tablets-and-mobile-devices/reviews/477039/review-minisuit-3-in-1-keyboard-folio-case-nexus-7-2013#) for the Nexus 7 2013, the most important things a writer looks for in any keyboard are key travel, spacing and feedback. Obviously a travel keyboard throws some additional requirements into the mix such as weight, size and battery life. However, when it comes to the single most important factor for me personally, and that's key spacing, the Minisuit Ultra-Thin Aluminium Bluetooth Keyboard Cover falls flat. There is simply no spacing at all, the keys just seem to merge together and it is very hard indeed not to hit the …

For a professional writer of any description, there are three things that matter when it comes to the keyboard that they are using: key spacing, key travel and key feedback. The Minisuit 3-in-1 Folio manages, as far as any such small keyboard is ever going to achieve, to get the key spacing and feedback right. The scrabble tile keys are far enough part, in that there is sufficient gap between them and above/below them to prevent too much mis-keying. This is the bane of most travel keyboards, the keys are badly spaced and you end up making so many typos …

When I run the game and try to use the Arrow keys to control the movement of the selection box, nothing happens. I'm pretty sure the game is redrawing itself properly because the ticker text is updating. Aswell, I tried doing: selectVal++; in the update function in TankShooter.Java, which made the box redraw and change position everytime. Hi, I have recently been building my own computer for the first time, but I have been having some problems with my monitor. When I turn my computer on everything appears to be working, I can control my fans and I can open/close my disk drive. Unfortunately, when I look at my monitor a message appears saying "attention in power save mode press any key on keyboard or move mouse to continue". So next I plugged my mouse and keyboard in but neither would work. I then tried mouse and keyboard on all of my USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and …

Hi. So, just switched to RAD XE3 to use Metropolis UI feature, and therefore started to completely rearrange and redesign my app to make it a little nicer, only this time I've chosen FireMonkey Metropolis App, since it has some good components, such as TSwitch (slide switch). Everything seems to work fine (with modifications and spending lot of time...), but can't find a way to call Switch procedure via VK buttons. The VK procedure is able to show toolbar, and to show message with ShowMessage('Hello'); as well, but I can't call switch procedure. The TSwitch has the OnSwitch event (It's …

Gone back to using old laptop with wireless mouse and keyboard and had to update numerous programs. Now the mouse or cursor has movement issues. In win explorer can only select last file in directory - ie 'zebra' and unable to scroll down web pages, pdf files etc. Tried system restore before updates, rebooted, did system check and everything seems ok. Still cannot move around web, explorer etc and even keyboard shortcuts won't work. Can't even try to install drivers as only the 'cancel' key is functioning and not 'continue' etc as 'cancel' is the last option where the cursor …

Hello, I have a compaq presario CQ61 laptop.. Something strange has started to happen and I am really not to sure on what to do. Each time I hit the letter "y" it will type "dhbty" and when I hit "Enter" it will type "c" This is happening with other keys as well, making the keyboard pretty much useless... I thought for awhile that it was software related, or some kind of spyware. I have since done a complete format of the harddrive and re-installation, and it is still happening. When I plug an external Compaq Presario Keyboard into the …

I admit it's a part of an assignment but I don't understand what the assignment require in this part. This program is supposed to read 10 numbers from the keyboard and then the application findMax will take one single command line argument. If you invoke findMax 1, it will print to the screen the largest number amongst the ten numbers. If you invoke findMax 2, it will print to the screen the second largest number amongst the ten numbers. If you invoke findMax 3, it will print to the screen the third largest number amongst the ten numbers. What does …

Last year I reviewed the original Kensington KeyFolio Pro case with integrated keyboard, and liked it so much I have been using it on a daily basis ever since. With a DaniWeb rating of 9 out of 10, there really wasn't much room for improvement. So when Kensington released the KeyFolio Pro 2 earlier this year I was dubious that it could actually be worth the upgrade. Having now spent some time hands-on with latest version of this must-have iPad peripheral for the jobbing journalist, writer or coder, I am happy to report that my cynicism was unfounded. Kensington have …

Hi, Main problem: My Laptop (*Not the one I'm using now*) isn't accepting ant input, the mouse and the keyboard are both disabled... It must be due to Trojan attacks... I suspect they unninstalled some drivers... #------'The Story'------# 1.
