A few clarifications and practical points that the short replies here don't cover:
A president can push policy and use executive authority to nudge behavior, but cannot by fiat stop global outsourcing. Tax law changes, broad incentives or penalties, and large-scale trade rules need Congress; procurement rules and enforcement priorities can be changed administratively but only affect government contracts and suppliers. Market forces — unit economics, access to talent, language/culture fit and IP/security concerns — still drive most corporate decisions.
For readers building or selling outsourced services: ’s note that customers “can’t stop” outsourcing is common. Mitigation steps that work in practice:
For US firms and policymakers: ’s fear of disruption is real for companies built solely on low-margin outsourcing. Before reshoring, run a full total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) analysis that includes hidden costs (coordination, IP risk, turnover, time zones). Pilot repatriation or automation projects first; use procurement preferences strategically where legal.
A practical checklist for anyone affected: document client/vendor TCO, identify 2–3 higher-margin services to develop, create a nearshore/local presence plan, and track actual legislation or procurement changes rather than campaign rhetoric. ’s optimism and //@yollyP’s varied views show this is as much political theatre as it is business change — adapt commercially, because companies respond to economics faster than to campaign promises.

I think it's great.
it became a big threat to most of IT companies who are solely based on outsourcing
It is not necessary that all election promises should be kept in letter and spirit. I hope outsourcing will not have bad future and perhaps IT is only industry that is to be least affected by world financial crises.
Well , I wanted to say that Although i'm not from U.S.A but i think that Obama will solve all your Problems and achieve every citizen the American Dream.
He is only after the welfare of the Americans and it's a good sign of a leader. But I know not all Americans can work the way third world country workers work..."die hard way".
