I hope I can figure out how to do this. It looks like it might be a helpful place to visit and I need all the help I can get! For openers, I can't get my scanner to work. I have a Macintosh G4 that doesn't seem to like my Scanmaker. It has never worked willingly and the person that installed the Scanwizard that DID make it work, at least most of the time, is no longer available. Is there anyone who could help me?

Hey there forum lurkers - all you people who are browsing the site but still haven't taken a minute to sign up. I just thought it would be a nice idea to welcome you all to the forums. Why not drop us a line and say howdy here? Heck, you don't even need to register to reply to threads here in the Geek's Lounge forum! Go ahead, introduce yourself ;)

HI, I JUST JOINED HERE & WANT TO KNOW HOW TO SET UP A CHAT ROOM PLEASE HELP ME OUT.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

[QOUTE]sry csc, I just took a course on AI and studied it in a lot detail.
my statement "rightly, they have not been programmed to do so" clearly reflects that it IS possible, and infact I know its pretty easy to do, which makes your comment rather redundant
[QOUTE/]

I know Im out of place to stand up for her honor, but dude that's darn right rude, you know???!!!
I mean who are you to critisize others?
and ...what the heck does " redundant" flipping mean anyway???? :?:

Oh and the name's Joe,nice site...*gives a red rose to the Admin*

Hello! My name is Mark And although IVe used computers for quit some time,I new to networking and UNIX. It is amazing how much I have to learn.

Hi! I am maverick26, new to both this forum, and computer science. I decided to ditch an 8 yr career in banking and go after my true love.

I still have problems with a lot of computer science concepts and would appreciate occasional help from time to time.

Thanks

:p Hi! Discovered this forum by happy accident, and already in a couple of minutes, found the solution to a problem I didn't know I had... that of the length of time it takes to power down. It seemed to me it was taking longer than usual both to get started and to close down. Didn't realize my changing of the sounds had anything to do with it. I have now changed to the bare minimum.
Also will investigate further problems in writing to disks other than Re-Write CDs.
Think I am going to enjoy this forum.

Hello Everyone, My name's Gerry and I'm just trying to make my website more functional/profitable (not necessarily in that order!)

My name is Gordon. I used to live on the Upper West Side of New York but I moved to West Seattle. I missed out on two feet of snow, oh my!

I found this site through a client of mine. I need all the help I can get with web development, since it seems that as soon as you know something it changes completely and you are back to knowing nothing.

I am also new here and just thought I would say hello.
So Hello ;)
Great place!

howdy everybody

G'Day people, I was directed to this site by a friend who wanted to help with my desktop computer problems.

Once I copy all by data I will be back on line to ask for your assistance.

Also if anyone knows where I can get a gramaphone repaired and 78 record to play on it let me know..Thanks!

t they??? mean when I'm told to go to the index for my particular problem. It wasn't there anywhere it makes me feel like I'm the only one with this problem

Gosh! have to say I quite like it here, you don't mind if I come back and irritate everyone with endless queries do you? Grabbed some goodies already, can't wait to assimilate alll of your programming data. Gimme!

You're correct, cangiee - this isn't the right place and, to be honest, I don't really understand your question. Sorry, I can't answer it. By the way, your age has nothing to do with things - confidence & experience are what makes computing work for ordinary folk (as opposed to those who are computing specialists, like many of our friends here, who have really studied their craft).

Here are two sites you could use for computing help - as I recall, you don't need to register with them either (but you *may* have to):-

http://www.allexperts.com/
http://www.computing.net/

Good Luck!

Bean.
