A few focused checks for the white-screen crash you described, . Building on the pointer from and the suggestion from to look for site-specific help, the fastest way to diagnose is to isolate browser/plugin problems first, then move to system-level checks.

Try these steps in order (each step rules out a class of problem):

  • Test the game in a different browser and in a private/incognito window to disable extensions.
  • Clear the browser cache/cookies, disable hardware acceleration, and update the browser. Open the developer console (F12) and check Console/Network for errors or blocked resources — copy any error lines you see.
  • If the game used a plugin (Flash/Java), update it. Note that Flash reached end-of-life and is blocked in modern browsers (Adobe Flash end-of-life), so Flash-based games may no longer run.

If the browser checks don’t help, do basic system diagnostics:

  • Check Task Manager for CPU/memory spikes or runaway processes.
  • Update your graphics driver and temporarily disable antivirus/firewall to test (only for troubleshooting).
  • Repair Windows system files and disks from an elevated prompt:
sfc /scannow
chkdsk C: /f

(See Microsoft’s sfc documentation for details: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/sfc.)

If the issue persists, try the game on another computer or network to isolate hardware vs. network vs. site. Collect exact browser name/version, OS, console error text, and a screenshot — that information makes a support request to Yahoo (or a forum post here) actionable. If this thread is being read long after 2010, be aware many older Yahoo Games were Flash-based and may no longer be supported by current browsers.

I would have moved this thread to a better place to get your question answered but couldn't figure out where to move it so ... I would think your issues are not with Yahoo or Yahoo games but with your own computer system and its configurations.

Fred, I think the best place we could probably direct him to is to yahoo answers. After all, he is having problems with their game site. Yet I agree that it might also be a problem with his PC.

Ya, that may have been a good idea. Didn't think about that, stopped looking at online answers from services a while back. Just figured there was somewhere around here that may be able to assist the poster. Seems likely if the poster was in the middle of a game and keeps getting blanked out it would be from his end and not Yahoo's. I may quite likely be wrong, these things are not in my scope. Heck, I need someone to come in to set up my speakers on this computer (since my last one got hacked up pretty decisively). I find digging through pages and pages of uninformative answers is frustrating; trying different searches for the same thing ... I don't do that anymore. I suppose I could endure ten or fifteen minutes of it if I had to but would give up swiftly and do what this poster did. Try to find an expert answer or pool for an answer from someone that may have solved a similar glitch.
