Short answer: an isolated backlink from a low-quality directory is unlikely to move your search positions or produce meaningful traffic. What matters is whether the link is editorial, relevant to your niche, and actually sends people. That addresses the core of s question without relying on public toolbar numbers.

Practical checklist:

  • Inspect the directory link to see if it is followed and editorial.

Wait for pr update because google can't updates pr of site for many months.

hmm it doesnt help you at all... even the site with page rank 1 is consider as a bad site to submit... so you can have the idea when you submit to 0 page rank... no matter what alexa rank it is... avoid it...

Well it won't help you until PR of that directory list improves.. So look for high PR directories which should also have good Alexa ranking to get advantage!
