i have a little confusion about Dofollow & Nofollow.

Q: What is Dofollow & Nofollow?
Q: Who is better? Dofollow or Nofollow? :icon_redface:

Nofollow is an attribute added to links when you DO NOT vouch for the quality of the link (because it is an advertisement, or it is within user-generated content such as a commenting system where anyone can link to whatever they wish and you have no control over it).

Dofollow has turned into an industry term used to describe when links do not have the nofollow attribute.

Don't use nofollow when you vouch for links, such as linking to other pages within your site, or external links to quality sites you mean to link to. Use nofollow within blog commenting systems or for text-based advertisements.

The original concept is that supposedly links with the nofollow attribute don't pass PageRank, but I personally don't believe that.

commented: Best described the term. There are tens of google official videos where Matt Cutts has said they do not count the links tagged as rel="nofollow" while updating the PageRank (if you are talking about Google PageRank) +0

according to my experience we'll get the backlinks and traffic on the website with the help of do follow attribute and no follow attribute gives only traffic.
they both are important factors but if you wants ranking on your keywords then you have to follow only do follow attribute tags.

Google gives weight-age to dofollow links, dofollow links are helpful in getting backlinks whereas through nofollow you can get only traffic.

hi,
no-follow attributes tells search engines don't follow the link, this help you to get traffic, but not for link juice.no-follow would be better when you have a site that has out going links.

Mostly, Search Engines gives priority to "DO FOLLOW" links only...So, my opinion is "DO FOLLOW" are better than "NO FOLLOW" links

If your only purpose is to improve the rank of your page, then choose only do-follow websites to link. However, if your purpose is to increase traffic and market your business, then link to both no-follow and do-follow websites.

Do follow baclinks are those which is include in our site worth, and Google must gives priority to these backlinks oin the other hand No follow backlinks are just driving traffic to our business and never counts in our site worth...

Hi,
Since there are many who already told about the what Dofollow and nofollow are. There are no rel=dofollow tag so all the links which do not carry rel="nofollow" are supposed as dofollow links.

For google nofollow means do not follow the link for crawling, no crawling means no indexing in google database hence no place in search result. PLEASE NOTE: A link tagged as rel=nofollow could be followed if it has some other source of follow means link from some other where it is not tagged as rel=nofollow.

For google a nofollow back link is not counted while compiling the back links for Google PageRank.

However yahoo and bing may count these back links as a vote for authority, but bing do not follow the link whereas yahoo follow it all.

Dofollow are more relevant & are more usefull. On the other hand some search engines give double benefit to do follow links rather than no follow.So we can say that so follow really means alot to a website.
