Originality Over Length for Short Content

Doc Leak showed, Google analyzes short content for originality, not just length.

There is no optimal length.

You can rank short content.

Important to keep in mind: Short Content is also penalized for KW-Stuffig.

Triple-Check your %'s.

The math is important. Not counting words.

Regards,

The optimal content length for SEO can vary depending on the topic, audience, and the competition, but here are some general guidelines:

Blog Posts and Articles:

Short-form content: 500-800 words
Standard blog posts: 1,000-2,000 words
In-depth articles: 2,000-3,000 words or more
Landing Pages:

Generally, 500-1,500 words to provide enough information and keywords.
Product Descriptions:

Typically, 100-300 words for concise and informative descriptions.
Long-form Content and Pillar Pages:

2,000-4,000 words or more to cover a topic comprehensively.
Key Points:

Quality over quantity: Content should be valuable, well-researched, and engaging.
User intent: Address the searcher’s intent and provide thorough answers.
Competitive analysis: Check the length of top-ranking content for your target keywords.
Readability: Use subheadings, bullet points, and visuals to break up text and improve readability.

Optimal content length can vary, but the focus should always be on delivering value to the reader while incorporating relevant keywords naturally.

commented: Nooooooooo. You can't say it like that generally. It always depends on the niche ALOT. Always check TOP10 for specific keyword. +0

If you are looking for the optimal word count to rank on 1st page for a specific keyword, analyze the actual TOP30 for that specific keyword. How many words to they have? Especially the TOP10.

This will be a good starting point, as it it highly niche-dependant.

E.g. For "best prepaid credit card" you might need a few more words to rank on 1st page than you will need for "prepaid credit card fees and costs in germany" - which indeed might be a bad example, because this search term is overtaken by AI Overviews already...

But you should get the point...

There is no "single" optimal length.

It always depends on the content.

The optimum post length for SEO appears to be from 2,250 to 2,500 words. You also want to see your posts shared and backlinked as much as possible. Longer posts are more likely to generate quality backlinks which, in turn, affect ranking factors.

There is a reason why REAL SEOs answers to most clients questions start with "It depends..." -.-

Consider your audience's attention span and preferred content format. So, some subjects require in-depth coverage, while others can be effectively addressed in shorter pieces.

The optimal content length for SEO is around 1,000-2,500 words. This range balances in-depth information with readability, improving rankings by satisfying both search engines and user engagement.

The optimal content length for SEO varies, but generally, comprehensive, high-quality content of 1,500-2,500 words tends to perform well. However, relevance and value to users should always take precedence over arbitrary word counts.

For SEO, aim for content that is at least 1,000 to 2,000 words, as longer, in-depth articles tend to rank better. However, focus on quality and relevance to ensure it meets user intent.
