Please tell me what is the difference between social media optimization and social bookmarking????

Social networking sites, you communicate directly to other members, while in bookmarking, you store some sites that can be personal or public that are shared to other members without directly communicating to them.

Social networking sites- Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest,myspace, Linkedin are the social networking sites where you can share, communicate, promote your products, services directly with the users or targeted consumers. Incase of Social bookmarking it just share your news with the world like Digg, Reddit.

Social media optimization and social bookmarking both are very different. Social media optimization is used for getting traffic for your site and in the other hand social bookmarking just a SEO technique through you will increase the keyword ranking.
