I personally dont care for them. I think they were originally a nice element to have on your site but as time wore on they are more annoying to me as a consumer.

I dont see to many sites using them anymore but I would think they would have no affect on inreasing or maintaining traffic. Because people are not going to come to the site more often because you have the sitepal
