I have a macbook air and am running 10.6.1. My internet connection is running very slow, and is variable. This has been happening since last night.
My CPU is running at about 40% with basic web page processes. Data sent/sec is really high sometimes, even when applications are idle. I turned time capsule off to see if this helps but it didn't.

Can anyone recommend a solution? Is there a problem with my hardware/cpu/airport card or is there a chance a windows based virus (or god forbid mac virus) is affecting my computer?

It's not a virus for sure. Maybe it's overheating? Also it could be an Internet provider problems with server.
