I have a compaq presario 2100 laptop in front of me. It starts up and everything sounds on and then it just stops at the start up screen. It says f2 to enter set up and f12 to boot from LAN. I have tried to press both of these buttons and it doesn't do anything. Software or Hardware problem?

Jump to Postcheck CMOS if your system still can detect your hard drive, if your hard drive is detected disable first the LAN in CMOS, then try to boot up if it will properly.

I have the same problem with the same lap top. Mines says no hard drive detected. does this mean my hard drive is bad, and i will need a new one???

hi kingdell91, if CMOS can't detect your harddrive then most probably you need a new one...
