The above mentioned laptop boots and runs fine on battery power but will not boot with the AC adapter. The adapter appears to be charging the battery fine. When I use the adapter I get a blue screen and immediate shutdown. Also, the machine runs MUCH hotter with the adapter connected. I checked the voltage output on the adapter (with a cheap tester) and it appears to be putting out the correct voltage of 19 volts. Is there a voltage regulator on these things that could have gone bonkers?
