I've got two hard drives from broken down computers and would very much like to access the files from them ( pictures mainly ). Which is the best way to go about this? is buying an external case and connecting via usb the best way? both PC's they came from had two windows sections on , both with passwords, is this a problem? if so how can i sort it?
Any help or advice would be great

If you are still looking for answers, do you have a spare HDD connection? If you do, just connect them to a ribbon cable plugged into it and boot; they should show up.

Anything previous to windows vista will work fine plugged in via a USB enclosure or by IDE (doesn't always work with Vista since it has the option to encrypt the hard drive). I'd use IDE but USB works great if you don't want to open your case.
