lately i have been experiencing 'freezing' problems with my computer,
i have reason to believe it is a video card problem.
what happens: i get one of two events happen,
either the screen goes black and i get no input signal,
or the computer freezes on a screen with a sound loop type thing.
these only happen when i run applications that exceed 640x480.

please help me diagnose my problem and guide me in the right direction for a fix.
