My PS fan has started making a grinding sound so probably needs replacing. It's an older PC so I don't want to replace the PS itself.

I've looked around for (& bought) a new one only to find the wiring doesn't match up. The faulty one has red, black & blue wires but all the replacement fans I can find have red, black & white wires.

My question(s) are:
1. Where can I find a fan (8cm; 12V) with same wiring as the old one?
or
2. Can I do a splice job connecting the white wire to the blue wire & using the old connector on the new fan (so the wiring matches up to the pins in the proper sequence)?
Thanks

search the web for the manufacturer of your PSU check if you can get some info..
