Subject: can not load some game to partition lable invalid drive [Incident: 040107-000099]

Thank you for sending your MAXTOR E-mail inquiry.

Dear Arnold Bosch:

Thank you for contacting us concerning this issue.

I am sorry to hear of your issue. Is the Maxtor 120G the C: drive? What drive letter is the Maxtor assigned? From the error you wrote: "C:\program files\microsoft games\mechwarrior" this would indicate the program was trying to install on your boot or C: drive. Some software will not allow you to chose a driver other then the default C: to install. Does the install for this game allow you to specify a path? It is also recommended to contact the software vendor, as they have more experience and trouble shooting knowledge with this software then we do.

Thank you,

What drive letters are your cd drive(s) mapped to? do you by any chance have a dvd drive called D: and a cdrw drive called E: that might explain it......

yea what qks said if it says its too long and write protected it might be a cdr or a dvr well if your trying to burn it to a published cd they usally always write protect them and so id figgure out which 1s are hard drvive and which 1s werent
