I recently purchased a used portable 500gb Buffalo Metro HDD. I attempted to access it and found it had a password on it. I contacted the seller and they don't have it on record. I was wondering if there was any way to reset the password so that I can use it. I would hate to have to return it as I got a pretty good deal on it and I'd have to pay for the shipping both ways.

I only have a few days left before I have to send it back or not get any refund.

I tried formatting, but it will not give me any access to the drive at all. I was hoping there was some backdoor I could use.
