I have bought a 2nd hand 200W PC SMPS from local marcket. It is manufactured by COMPAQ & the model no. is PS-5201-4T1. It is an ATX one but it has no 4 pin processor core voltage power connector. I want to use it as the power supply of my projects. So, I have shorted the pin 14(PS_ON) of 20 pin mother board power connector to pin 15(GROUND). But nothing was happend. I have tried with a load (an old CD ROM drive) also. The 5VSB(pin 9) is perfectly OK & gives +5V. I have tried the above trick with other ATX SMPS & they worked fine. So, please tell me how I can use the SMPS as an individual power supply.
