I purchased a D610 Latitude for my daughter and while she was using it I dropped a large popcorn tin and it landed on the cord in 2 places simultaneously and instantly lost all power. AC/DC = nothing. No lights, fan or anything else. I know this dosent matter but computer has less than 100 hours on it.

I have a feeling I fried something considering the way it went ZAPPPP, and then nothing.

I have limited skills, but I am willing to investigate with some guidance.

hi,first thing to do is try another power supply

thanks jack,

i ordered a battery and power supply just now. on a thought i tried my d830 PS and was able to get it to power up but battery light blinked orange. hopefully the 2 items will take care of it. Thank You for your quick response ! Ill post up the results.
