I have been working on this laptop and only receive 2 options, one to repair and the other to start windows normally. The message states that software or hardware installation was done incorrectly. Either option takes me to a black screen where no activity is heard. I have tried the on board restore feature by pressing the "R", but no matter what option I select, the computer ends up at the black screen with no activity. I don't know but I think it maybe a hardware error, more specifically the hard drive. Could someone with more knowledge advise me on this matter? Thanks in advance!

Or possibly run a disk checking utility from your Vista/7 DVD (XP would not give those options) and check the drive for errors.
