somehow, the drivers from my dvd rom and cd rom either got corrupted or something. i tried to download to driver and re-install it but it keeps saying something about an inf file. what can i do?

The .inf file should be downloaded from where you got the driver. It contains the instructions telling Windows how to install the driver.
