Is it possible that the reason my laptop shuts down after a minute, or so, is because my "universal replacement" AC Adapter is rated at 65 Watts and Compaq specs 90 Watts for its original equipment AC Adapter?

Maybe I just need a new AC Adapter and don't need to replace my hard drive. What do you think?

Thanks. -yawni

yes you do need a 90w adapter. you need to ensure the voltage, wattage, and amperage are the same. also watch out for the appropriate pin arrangement on the connector, some have a positive centre pin and some negative, it should tell you exactly what you need on the underside of the case
