Hi, i am getting a new barbone desktop computer, and my dad said that when we build it i can just simply transfer my older sound blaster sound card (I dont know the name becuase there is no way to check and they do not sell it any more) from my old computer
(OS- Windows 98) to my new one. At first i was like great, but then i went to look for sound cards and they had a newer version of the sound blaster(XF-i). The processor of my new computer is a Pentuim D 840 /3.2/OEM running a Windows XP and i have real world surround sound speakers, and i wanted to know if it is worth the $100.00 to get this newer card and if i would notice a difference. I am not using it for any photo or video editing.

I found out the name of the new one, it is the Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum which i believe i can use for surround sound.
