Hi,
I've got a Toshiba Satellite A70 that I'm pretty happy with, however only 512mb of memory.
I'm looking to upgrade it, and although am an IT person -- have been out of hardware for ages.
The laptop takes PC2700 DDR memory -- but I see standard and SODIMM -- what is the advantage of one over the other?
Next question - if I upgrade, should I go to 1gb or 1.5gb -- yes, more is always better but 512mb more is only around $80 and 1gb is $200. I do some graphics -- but no 3D stuff, no games etc., I've just noticed that with the # of apps I use, the system really slows down (always-on virus scanner and spychecking applications plus a few others).
Looking for your opinions.
