Borrow another keyboard from someone and see if the problem still occurs; that will at least narrow things down a bit.

does anyone know how to actually fix this though. I was thinking about downloading some logitech drivers for my current kb, would that work?

Older keyboards aren't able to handle something like that, especially older PS/2 and AT keyboards.

Anything recent that uses USB would be fine, but yes it's your keyboard.
