Hi,

I am relatively new to Linux and I have inherited a working Linux / Samba server with 13 Win XP users. All is well except that the hard drive is filling very rapidly, about 150 MB a day. I found that every user has a /.recycle/profiles directory on the server that is huge. I have reset the Win XP to use less space for the recycle bin and lowered the restore point settings. Is it safe to delete the files in the /.recycle/profiles directories. Would they go away if I re-booted the server after resetting the Win XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks- JPW

Delete the user and then delete the profile of the user in Linux. Then recreate the user. You should be set with it not filling up the directory after that. If not, you've got deeper problems and should investigate further.
