Is there a Mac version of MS publisher? I need to send an email newsletter via Publisher.
Can I create an html or pdf in another programme and then import into publisher?
Would appreciate any help

Short answer for : there is no native Microsoft Publisher for macOS — Publisher is a Windows-only app, and Microsoft recommends migrating/ exporting Publisher files because the app will be retired on October 1, 2026. (learn.microsoft.com)
Practical ways to proceed (updates to the older replies): if someone with Windows/Publisher is available, have them open the .pub and Export/Save as PDF (best for emailing) or as Word for editable content. LibreOffice Draw (the LibreOffice import library libmspub) can open many .pub files on a Mac so you can export to PDF/ODG, but import fidelity varies and you generally cannot save back to .pub. If Publisher itself is required, run Windows on the Mac (Parallels, VMware, or remote desktop) and use the Windows Publisher there. Online converters also exist to turn .pub into PDF or HTML when a quick conversion is needed. (wiki.documentfoundation.org)
If starting fresh on macOS, use a Mac-native layout app rather than trying to import into Publisher: Affinity Publisher is a strong, modern, one-time-purchase alternative and Adobe InDesign is the industry standard; Scribus is the free open-source option. For sending a newsletter: export a PDF and attach it, or recreate the design in an email service (Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, etc.) and send HTML — HTML email needs simple table-based structure, inline CSS and hosted images for best cross-client results, so an email-builder is usually the fastest, safest path. was right that Pages suits simple jobs; and were on the right track suggesting Open/NeoOffice era tools, but LibreOffice Draw (not vanilla OpenOffice) is the current importer to try. I find Mac's own "Pages and Numbers" can handle everything I need.
Good luck,

You could also try OpenOffice.Org. They have "drawing", which is similar to publisher. It's a suite of apps that is designed to be an open-source rival to MS Office.
