I recently purchased Panther and have been trouble installing it. I am currently X.2.8 and when I try to install Pather I get a message saying that I have prgrams already installed that are newer than the ones in the Panther installation and therefore will not install. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Are you trying to do an upgrade, or a fresh re-install? An upgrade might cause the hangup. I would suggest that you store your data somewhere else (CD-ROM, Network), and then boot from the Panther CD-ROM. You might have to format (and since y ou backed up your data) it will be alright, and the conflicts will go away.
