Help I can't stop the popups!!!

Hi, this site has helped me alot with computer problems in the past but now i thought it was time to join because for some reason I can not stop pop-ups on my computer... I've tried Norton 360, Spy Sweeper, and AVG 7.5 and none of them seem to help... I run on firefox and every 10min about 4-8 popups will open from Internet explorer and I cant seem to find the problem...any help would be greatly appreciated =]

hi,
if you want to stop the pop-up,then go to Tools-Pop-up blocker-Turn off Pop-up Blocker.
(or) Tools-Internet Options-click on Privacy tab-and under Pop-up Blockers check the 'Block Pop-ups'.

sorry the one which i told is about IE. In mozilla firefox go to Tools-options-Content and uncheck the option 'Block Pop-up Windows'.

I downloaded a free programme called - oddly - "12-Ghosts Pop Up Killer", but I can't remember where I downloaded it from. I'm sure you'll be able to find it with your serach engine. It works well but I'm using Win 2K so it might not work on your system.

Holy Crap! It stopped the pop-ups! Just a real quick question I now have 17 individual ghosts on my bottom toolbar that are running...Not that im complaining because I actually find them quite funny but Do I only need the popup blocker ghost and not the other 1000...Is there any way to turn off the other ones beside the pop-up blocker?

I'm sorry I don't know how to get rid of the extra Ghosts. I don't even have a desktop or toolbar icon, the 12 Ghost PUB just runs in the background somehow, but I will try to find out for you,

1. Remove all your cookies (both in firefox & IE)
2. Use CC Cleaner to clean your registry.
3. Use SpyBot Search & Destroy to clean your system.
4. Restart the PC.
5. Done.
