This seems to be a common problem but I need an easy to understand solution. I have an Acer Aspire 5610 notebook that up until today had a working cd/dvd player. Now it doesn't work and I get the error 10 message. When I search for driver updates the message is that the drivers are up to date. From what I've found on other sites it seems that this is a recurrent Vista problem. Any easy to perform/understand solutions or do I need to take the Notebook somewhere for an overhaul?

You probably had resolved this problem by now, but I’ am sure that many more will serf the net in the days to come, as long Vista user will not decide to upgrade to XP many more will keep having this problem So, here’s the easy registry link to fix it:
