I have a reboot loop due to "event log: keyboard not functional". I have determined I have to reinstall xp but I need to save all the data to be re-loaded once I get xp back on.
Would someone please help this amateur with the best way to save data for reloads?

Thanks!!!!

If you have access to another storage drive such as a cd/dvd drive, you can use a Linux cd like Ubuntu 10.04. Boot into the Ubuntu disk, as soon as the disk boots, press the space bar to access the menu. Select try Ubuntu without making changes to the hard drive. Once you have a working desktop you will be able to access the hard drive from your Linux desktop. Transfer the files to the cd / dvd or another hard drive...

Hope that helps...
