Hi guys

A problem here, I'm trying to host a site on a XP Pro machine with IIS 5.1 (just testing at the moment)

I can get it setup so that i can see the page with normal http (on this machine from localhost and on others in the network by putting the 'servers' IP in the browser)

The problem comes when I enable HTTPS in IIS. When I try to access the site with http it says that page can only be viewed over secure channel, which is good so I know it's not allowing http. Then when I replace the http:// with https:// I get the "Page cannot be displayed" error page with "Cannot find server or DNS Error" at the bottom.

I've opened ports 80 and 443 in the firewall but still no luck.

I'm quite new to all this (hosting pages and setting up ssl) and any help will be much appreciated

I don't know if this will help, but it's worth a try.

Download Dial-a-Fix and run it. Select the 'Check all' (green arrow) and then hit 'GO.'
Reboot when done and see how things are now.
